I remember being so excited to try out the new local gym that was opening. I had gone to a few free classes and loved the atmosphere of sweating with others. I loved the group workout settings but wanted to try out the free weights and machines but didn’t know where to begin. My husband and I decided to try out the free personal training pass, and I remember walking in the gym and meeting the trainer for the first time and within seconds hating him.
He didn’t appreciate the fact that I went to the gym and basically told me that group exercise was a joke and I would never get the results I was looking for. Let me just say this, he should have NEVER said that to me. I immediately hated the gym and had to find another avenue to get the results I was seeking. What a jerk, I mean one would think that a personal trainer would appreciate that I was even going to the gym at all. Please know that not all trainers are like that, thankfully!
The one encounter with the trainer made me want to strive to help people out and not make them feel discouraged by starting an exercise routine, whatever it may be. One thing I know is that we are all on our own journeys and here for different reasons. I started with at-home workouts. It was just me and @ShaunT in my living room. He spoke to me through his words, his motivation, his accountability. It was almost as though he knew what I needed to hear on those hard days.
Throughout this 8-year journey, life has thrown so many ups and downs our way. The birth of our son 9 years ago, an ectopic pregnancy, back surgery, a breast cancer diagnosis, and the death of my father on my birthday. Through all of it, I have learned that even when things get hard you have to dig deep and you can OVERCOME! Initially, when I started on this journey it was to lose weight but it has turned into so much more! I have gone on to become a NASM Certified Personal Trainer so that I can spread the joy of fitness
I have now dedicated my life to showing others that exercise can be fun and therapeutic. It can help you through the deepest and darkest times! My goal with all my clients is to provide them with the support, accountability, and motivation to help them succeed. No matter what their goals may be!
I can say to you today I have lost over 50 lbs and have kept it off for over 5 years! I wake up and get excited to work out. I get excited to see my clients finding success in the workouts and nutrition programs! I know my programming works but the commitment has to come from you! I provide the tools, the motivation, the accountability, and make sure you stay on track but the rest is up to you! Anything is possible if you put your heart and soul into it. I want to be your COACH for YOU!
